Week 12 (8/28/2023 – 9/1/2023)
Our twelfth and final week of summer camp featured an exploration of physics with a focus on magnetism through hands-on experiments with permanent magnetics and metallic objects. In addition to physics, the students also enjoyed making and decorating their own lollipop cakes during our cooking class, and also had lots of fun playing playing soccer outside, marking a brilliant conclusion to an exciting twelve-week summer adventure here at TCIS.

Week 11 (8/21/2023 – 8/25/2023)
In the eleventh week of the summer camp, students explored concepts in physics such as forces, gravity, friction, and conversion of potential energy into motion through participating in hands-on activities. Alongside our explorations, the students also had a chance to make and decorate their own cake doughnuts. Combined with fun outdoor activities, the students overall had an amazing week of learning and laughter.

Week 10 (8/14/2023 – 8/19/2023)
In the tenth week of summer camp, students delved into the realm of sound energy through interactive experiments and activities, including observing patterns created by standing sound waves and creating their own percussion instruments. Additionally, they had a chance to express their creativity through decorating cookies, as well as explore different materials and textures through making playdough and slime, making it a remarkable week of exploration and fun.

Week 9 (8/7/2023 – 8/11/2023)
In the ninth week of our summer camp, we delved into the realm of energy, learning about heat and light through captivating experiments like the Spinning Spiral Snake and exploring light and shadows outdoors. We also enjoyed making our own sensory bottles, cloud dough, and Oobleck.

Week 8 (7/31/2023 – 8/4/2023)
During the eighth week of the summer camp, the focus was on fall and winter in the theme of "Weather and the Seasons." Additionally, we explored different artistic techniques and had a chance to make our own tie-dye shirts! Also, we took the opportunity to make watermelon ice jelly, inspired by a traditional Chinese dessert.

Week 7 (7/24/2023 – 7/28/2023)
During the seventh week of summer camp, the children explored the captivating theme of weather and seasons through engaging activities and experiments. We also engaged in various colorful and exciting art projects, including a collaborative outdoor painting session.

Week 6 (7/17/2023 – 7/21/2023)
During the sixth week of summer camp, the children engaged in exciting water-themed activities, learning about the different phases of water and exploring water conservation. Additionally, they enjoyed water-related experiments and making nori rice balls, as well as soccer and sports class outdoors. The first half of the summer camp has been a blast, and we look forward to even more fun in the second half.

Week 5 (7/10/2023 – 7/14/2023)
During our fifth week of summer camp, we explored the wonders of water, understanding its essence, forms, and importance in our lives, and conducted many scientific experiements with wanter. Additionally, we broadened our scientific knowledge by studying bugs, bees, and butterflies, and had a delightful time making fruit yogurt ice popsicles in our weekly cooking class.

Week 4 (7/3/2023 – 7/7/2023)
During our fourth week of summer camp, we delved deeper into the captivating world of animals, exploring their diets, habitats, and some of their survival techniques. We also enjoyed a delightful cooking activity, creating a refreshing fruit salad, and engaged in fun outdoor activities.

Week 3 (6/26/2023 – 6/30/2023)
In the third week of summer camp, we focused on exploring animals, learning about species classification and the factors that contribute to their growth. Additionally, we enjoyed making colorful glutinous rice balls as part of our cooking class and also took care of the bean sprouts that we planted the previous week.

Week 2 (6/20/2023 – 6/23/2023)
In the second week of the summer camp, the children learned about plants and their life cycle, while also participating in cultural activities such as celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival. They enjoyed playing with bubbles and actively participated in sports activities, making the week a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.

Week 1 (6/12/2023 – 6/16/2023)
The first week of our summer camp was an exciting mix of scientific exploration and enjoyable activities. The children delved into the scientific method, sharpened their observation skills, and learned to use measuring tools, while also enjoying music, pancake making, soccer lessons, and learning about living and non-living things.
